5/31 Colvin back; Sori to DL – UPDATED

Alfonso Soriano will be placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday and Tyler Colvin added to the active roster. Colvin was hitting in the batting cage at Wrigley Field with Rudy Jaramillo early Tuesday. Soriano has a strained left groin, suffered Monday in the first inning. He was not expected to need the full 15-days but the Cubs don’t want to be shorthanded. Colvin began the year with the big league team but was sent down to Iowa after batting .113 in 28 games. He was hitting .260 in 12 games with five doubles, two triples and one home run at Triple-A Iowa.

Tell Sori to take his time. It appears REGULAR and CONSISTENT playing time may cure Colvin’s ills. We’ll see but an outfield left to right of Colvin, Campana and Snyder may be more promising than any outfield that includes the offensivly underacheiving Sorryohno and Fooladummy (which is what he did to Hendry), not to mention the butcher that Soriano is defensivley. In fact…he should be wearing a paper hat and and apron. Now’s the time for Quade to work his “magic” and see if he can get the kids to play for him and have a FOUR MONTH RUN so we can all forget about the AWESOME, AMAZING ONE MONTH run at the end of last year which won him the Jim Hendyr manager of the century award. AKA “dumb luck”
