Brooks Raley gave up one run on one hit and two walks over five innings in Iowa’s 3-2 loss to Nashville. The I-Cubs were eliminated from the playoffs with the loss. Brad Nelson hit his 20th home run, a solo shot. Mike Olt had three hits.
Eduardo Figueroa threw six shutout innings, giving up one hit and walking one, in Tennessee’s 12-1 win over Chattanooga. Justin Bour was a triple shy of the cycle, finishing with a double, a homer and a season-high six RBIs. Brett Jackson had two hits, including a double and a triple. Christian Villanueva had two hits and two RBIs. He leads the Southern League with 41 doubles.
Kris Bryant, Dustin Geiger, Bijan Rademacher, Pin-Chieh Chen and Zeke DeVoss each homered in Daytona’s 11-6 win over Brevard County. For Bryant, it was his second homer in the last three games. Chen smacked a two-run blast. Ivan Pineyro gave up four runs over five innings.
Starling Peralta gave up eight runs over four innings in Kane County’s 8-2 loss to Cedar Rapids. Carlos Escobar had three hits and Reggie Golden had two hits.
Duane Underwood gave up eight runs — four earned — over three innings in Boise’s 10-6 loss to Salem-Keizer. Dan Lockhart had two hits.
Mesa’s season ended Thursday at 27-28.
In his first start for Triple-A Iowa, Kyle Hendricks gave up one unearned run over seven innings in a 2-1 win over Fresno. Hendricks struck out five and walked one. Brad Nelson hit his 17th home run.
Matt Szczur had four hits including his third home run, in Tennessee’s 9-8 win over Montgomery. Eduardo Figueroa gave up five runs over six innings and did not get a decision. Arismendy Alcantara and Rubi Silva each had two hits and a stolen base.
Dustin Geiger hit two home runs to help Pierce Johnson and lead Daytona to a 11-0 win over Clearwater. Johnson gave up two hits over five innings and struck out six. Geiger finished with three hits and five RBIs.
Starling Peralta gave up one hit over 5 2/3 innings in Kane County’s 7-0 win over Burlington. Peralta struck out five but also walked five. Dan Vogelbach hit his 17th home run and drove in three runs.
Kris Bryant hit his fourth home run and Yasiel Balaguert belted his sixth in Boise’s 7-5 win over Vancouver. Duane Underwood picked up the win in relief, giving up one walk and striking out two over three innings.
Mesa had the day off and resumes play Friday against the Angels.
* Albert Almora is sidelined with a slight groin strain. It will likely be a few days before he’s back in Kane County’s lineup.
* Iowa has placed right-handed pitcher Barret Loux on the disabled list while catcher Cael Brockmeyer joined the team from Boise. Loux is sidelined with a right shoulder strain. This is his third trip to the DL this season, but his first with an arm issue. His two earlier stints were because of a sprained ankle. Loux is 4-6 with a 4.84 ERA (43ER/80 IP) in 19 games (16 starts) with Iowa.
The I-Cubs added Brockmeyer after catcher Luis Flores had to leave Monday’s game after the fifth inning because of a concussion. He was struck on the back of the helmet and mask on the follow through of a swing. Flores was batting .197 (31-for-157) with eight doubles, four home runs, and 14 RBI in 49 games with Iowa. The Cubs drafted Brockmeyer in the 16th round of the June draft out of Cal State-Bakersfield. He was batting .309 (25-for-81) with four doubles, a triple, 12 RBI, and 17 runs scored in 26 games with Boise. He was scheduled to start Tuesday.
Brandon Bantz hit a walkoff homer with one out in the ninth off Casey Coleman to give Tacoma a 6-5 win over Iowa. Darnell McDonald was 4-for-5 with a home run, and Brad Nelson hit his 16th homer of the season. Justin Grimm gave up eight hits over six innings. Daniel Lockhart posted his second straight multi-hit game, and stole a base.
Mat Loosen gave up five runs over three innings in Tennessee’s 6-4 loss to Jacksonville. Javier Baez had two hits, his third straight multi-hit game, plus one RBI and he stole a base.
Daytona’s doubleheader against Bradenton was cancelled because of rain for the third straight day. Daytona has lost 10 games to weather this season. Tuesday is an off day. No word yet on when Scott Baker will make his next rehab start for the team.
Jeimer Candelario hit a first-inning home run but it wasn’t enough as Kane County lost, 12-4, to Clinton. Felix Pena gave up eight runs over six innings.
Eight Boise Hawks players were named to the roster for the Northwest League All-Star Game at Everett Memorial Stadium. First pitch is 8:05 MDT. Pitchers Tyler Bremer and James Pugliese, catcher Lance Rymel, infielders David Bote, Daniel Lockhart and Jacob Rogers, and outfielders Yasiel Balaguert and Shawon Dunston Jr. were named to the South Division squad. Boise’s skipper, Gary Van Tol, will manage the South against the North. Lockhart will miss the game because he is now on Triple-A Iowa’s roster.
Francisco Sanchez and Charcer Burks each had two hits in Mesa’s 4-3 win over the Indians. Kelvin Freeman had two RBIs.
Brad Nelson had three hits and his team-leading 54th RBI in Iowa’s 6-5 loss to New Orleans. Nick Struck gave up three earned runs over five innings and took the loss. Donnie Murphy had two hits, including a double, and one RBI.
Arismendy Alcantara, who will play in the All-Star Futures Game, had three hits and one RBIs in Tennessee’s 7-2 win over Jackson in the first game of a doubleheader. Justin Bour also had three hits and two RBIs. P.J. Francescon picked up the win, pitching three innings of relief. In the second game, Eric Jokisch gave up two runs over 5 2/3 innings in a 5-2 victory. Rubi Silva and Alcantara each homered. Alcantara’s was a three-run shot.
Dustin Geiger hit his 10th home run in Daytona’s 7-6 loss to Lakeland. Zach Cates did not get a decision. He gave up two runs over seven innings.
Jeimer Candelario hit a home run and drove in two runs in Kane County’s 7-2 loss to South Bend. Albert Almora extended his hitting streak to four games with two hits, including a double.
Jose Dore hit his first home run, a two-run shot, in Boise’s 6-5 loss to Vancouver. Shawon Dunston had two hits.
Marcos Mateo threw one inning in Mesa’s 14-2 romp over the Padres. Zak Blair and Yasiel Balaguert each had two hits. Mateo, who was on a rehab assignment, was assigned to Tennessee along with catcher Lance Rymel. Also, Smokies catcher Chad Noble was promoted to Triple-A Iowa. Mateo, 29, rejoins Tennessee where he spent parts of the 2009 and 2010 seasons with the Smokies. The right-handed pitcher is coming off an injury that caused him to miss the entire 2012 season.
Brad Nelson, Junior Lake and Ty Wright hit back to back to back home runs in the fourth inning but it wasn’t enough as Iowa lost, 6-5, to Memphis. They are the first trio of Iowa Cubs to hit consecutive homers in 14 years. Jae-Hoon Ha had two hits, including a double and a home run.

Jacob Rogers had two hits in Boise’s 11-3 loss to Salem-Keizer. Loiger Padron took the loss, giving up seven runs on six hits over 1 2/3 innings.

Logan Watkins, Junior Lake and Brad Nelson each homered to help Iowa beat Nashville, 5-4, in the first game of a doubleheader. Guillermo Moscoso gave up four runs on seven hits over six innings for the win. In the second game, Watkins and Lake homered again, as did Donnie Murphy and Brian Bogusevic in a 8-6 win. Steve Clevenger was behind the plate, and went 0-for-2 in the 15th game of his rehab assignment. He’s batting .327. Casey Coleman converted his third save.

Yasiel Balaguert hit a three-run homer and Kevin Encarnacion added a solo shot in Boise’s 4-1 win over Spokane. Paul Blackburn gave up one unearned run over five innings, but did not get a decision. He has not given up an earned run in 10 innings.
Mesa opened its season with a win over the Diamondbacks, 6-4. Erick Castillo, Guiseppe Papaccio and Zak Blair each had two hits. Castillo drove in two runs.
Brad Nelson hit two home runs to help Iowa beat Oklahoma City, 7-6. Yoanner Negrin picked up the win, giving up five runs over five innings. It was Nelson’s second straight multi-homer game. Logan Watkins also had two hits and two RBIs.

Javier Baez became the second player in the 94-history of the Florida State League to hit four home runs in a game and help Daytona beat Fort Myers, 9-6. Baez went 4-for-4 with seven RBIs. He’s batting .291 for the season. Zach Cates got the win, giving up three earned runs over six innings.
Rock Shoulders had two hits but it wasn’t enough as Kane County lost, 6-2, to Cedar Rapids. Pierce Johnson gave up five runs over 4 2/3 innings.
Class A Boise opens its season Friday at Eugene. The Mesa Rookie League team begins its season June 20.

He finished with three RBIs. Jackson had two hits, including his homer. Junior Lake was 3-for-5 and Logan Watkins and Steve Clevenger each had two hits.
Rubi Silva and Jonathan Mota each homered in Tennessee’s 5-3, 11-inning win over Mobile. Ty Wright was 2-for-2 with one RBIs. Mota finished with three hits.
Kyle Burke gave up one earned run over five innings in Daytona’s 8-2 win over Brevard County in the first game of a doubleheader. Daytona stole six bases in the game. Dustin Geiger hit his seven home run and finished with three RBIs. Daytona completed the sweep with a 3-2 win in the nightcap. John Andreoli had two hits, scored two runs and stole a base.
Marco Hernandez and Dan Vogelbach each homered but it wasn’t enough as Kane County lost, 8-4, to Cedar Rapids. Vogelbach’s blast was his 11th. He finished with two RBIs.

Brooks Raley started but had to leave after 3 1/3 innings when he was hit by a line drive. Logan Watkins had three hits. Steve Clevenger was 2-for-4 with a double in his second rehab game.
* Junior Lake was expected to join the Iowa Cubs Thursday. He’s been rehabbing at the Cubs’ facility in Mesa, Ariz., from a rib injury suffered in Spring Training.
Ronald Torreyes hit his second homer and Ty Wright belted his third in Tennessee’s 8-6 win over Jackson. Matt Szczur had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs. Chad Noble had four hits and one RBIs.
Ben Wells threw five shutout innings, giving up two hits, in Daytona’s 1-0 win over Bradenton. John Andreoli and Tim Saunders each had two hits. Andreoli, Jorge Soler, Javier Baez and Dustin Geiger were all named to the Florida State League’s first half North All-Star team. Baez and Soler bought pizzas for the Daytona team after Tuesday’s game to celebrate. Baez also was invited to take part in the All-Star home run derby, and agreed. The Florida State League All-Star game will be played June 15 in Dunedin, Fla.
Kane County had Tuesday off, and returns to action Wednesday against Burlington.
